The Salman Khan and Lawrence Bishnoi Controversy: Timeline and Reasons

Lawrence Bishnoi vs. Salman Khan: Why the Gangster Wants to Kill the Actor

Lawrence Bishnoi, a known gangster, has openly threatened Bollywood actor Salman Khan multiple times. The reason for this enmity stems from a 1998 incident when Khan was involved in a blackbuck poaching case in Rajasthan. The Bishnoi community, which holds the blackbuck as sacred, was deeply hurt, and Lawrence Bishnoi, being a member of this community, vowed to seek revenge. He declared that it was his "life's goal" to kill Salman Khan.

Timeline of Incidents:

  1. 1998: Salman Khan was charged with hunting blackbucks during the shooting of his film "Hum Saath-Saath Hain" in Rajasthan. This incident sparked outrage among the Bishnoi community.

  2. 2018: While being produced in court, Bishnoi openly threatened to kill Khan, stating that the actor must face consequences for his actions against the blackbuck.

  3. 2022: A threatening letter was found near Salman Khan’s residence, warning him of dire consequences. The letter was linked to Bishnoi’s gang, and soon after, Khan’s security was increased to Y-plus level.

  4. March 2023: Bishnoi's aide, Goldy Brar, reportedly sent an email to Salman Khan’s team, issuing another death threat. Following this, the actor was seen traveling in a bulletproof car and carrying a licensed firearm.
