The Bishnoi community, which holds the blackbuck as sacred, was deeply hurt, and Lawrence Bishnoi, being a member of this community, vowed to seek revenge. He declared that it was his "life's goal" to kill Salman Khan.

1998: Salman Khan was charged with hunting blackbucks during the shooting of his film "Hum Saath-Saath Hain" in Rajasthan. This incident sparked outrage among the Bishnoi community.
2018: While being produced in court, Bishnoi openly threatened to kill Khan, stating that the actor must face consequences for his actions against the blackbuck.
2022: A threatening letter was found near Salman Khan’s residence, warning him of dire consequences. The letter was linked to Bishnoi’s gang, and soon after, Khan’s security was increased to Y-plus level.
March 2023: Bishnoi's aide, Goldy Brar, reportedly sent an email to Salman Khan’s team, issuing another death threat. Following this, the actor was seen traveling in a bulletproof car and carrying a licensed firearm.
November 2023: A new threat surfaced on social media, again warning Khan, which led to the Mumbai police intensifying security measures around the actor.
